CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. nuts or raisins

Cream butter with sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Combine flour, salt, and soda in another bowl; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in chips and nuts or raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes 6-8 dozen 2 inch cookies.
