BEEF OR PORK STRIPS ORIENTAL 
1 lb. meat, cut in sm. pieces
Oil
1 c. water (or more)
2 tbsp. soy sauce (or more)
1 c. carrot slices
1 c. celery slices
2 sm. cans mushrooms
1/4 c. cold water
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Brown meat in oil. Add water and soy sauce, cover. Simmer 1 hour or longer. Add vegetables; cook at least 1 hour longer. Combine cornstarch and water. Gradually add to meat, stirring until it thickens. Serve over hot rice or potatoes.
