DEAR ABBY'S CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
3 sqs. unsweetened chocolate 1/2 c. butter 2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. water 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 2 eggs 2 c. sugar Grease and flour two 8 inch layer pans or Bundt pan. Melt chocolate with butter and water over low heat. Let cool. Combine flour, soda, salt in medium bowl. Beat eggs with sour cream until blended in a large bowl. Beat in sugar and vanilla; stir in cooled chocolate mixture. Beat in flour mixture, half at a time, just until smooth. (Batter will be thin). Pour evenly into prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Cool in pans and bake 50-60 minutes for Bundt and turn onto wire racks. |
