PUMPKIN CAKE 
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 egg yolks
3/4 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. pumpkin
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. cake flour

Cream butter. Add sugars and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Beat well. Combine buttermilk and pumpkin. Add alternately with dry ingredients, stirring after each addition. Pour into two greased and floured 8-inch pans. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°F.
