AMISH SHOO-FLY PIE 
2 c. flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. lard, shortening or butter
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
1 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in the hot water

Mix flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, lard and spices thoroughly until crumbly. In a separate bowl mix molasses, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and hot water with soda. Into an unbaked 8 inch pie crust pour half the syrup mixture.

Top with half the crumb mixture. Repeat in another pie crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking for another 50 minutes. Cool before eating.
