2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
3 eggs
1 c. milk
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar then add one egg at a time, beating after each one. Add milk and flour alternating a little milk then a little flour mixing as you add. Add vanilla. Pour into a large loaf pan or tube pan. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
