PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE | |
1 (1 lb. 4 1/2 oz.) can sliced or crushed pineapple Maraschino cherries 1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 pkg. white or yellow loaf size (or 1 layer) cake mix Bake at 350 degrees. Drain pineapple well. Melt butter in pan (9 inch round, or 9 inch square) in oven. Remove from oven and stir in brown sugar. Arrange pineapple over sugar mixture; place cherry in center of each slice. Prepare cake mix batter as directed on the package. Pour batter into pan and spread evenly over the pineapple and sugar mixture. Bake for 40-50 minutes. |
