WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE TORTE | |
3 lg. or 4 sm. pkgs. Lady Fingers 11 oz. cream cheese 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. sugar 1 pt. whipping cream 1 or 2 cans of pie filling Cream the cheese and sugar and vanilla until smooth. (Tip - wash beaters and bowl and put wet into freezer for five minutes. This makes whipping easier). Whip the cream and add to cream cheese mixture - fold in. Line a 10 inch spring form pan with lady fingers, starting around the side, then the bottom. Place half of the cream cheese mixture in the pan then add another layer of lady fingers. Add the other half of the cream cheese mixture and top with lady fingers. Place pie filling over lady fingers. Use pineapple, strawberry, cherry, etc. Variations: Slice a banana and place on top of first layer of lady fingers. Or place on flavor pie filling inside and a different flavor on top. Or you can decorate the top with additional whipped cream and fresh strawberries. use your imagination. Serves 12. (Lady fingers can be purchased at Graeter's - these are the small size.) This recipes takes about 15 minutes to prepare and is quite elegant in appearance. I've used it for many birthday parties and no one can believe I made it myself or how quickly! |
