CHICKEN FLAVORED STIR-FRIED RICE
WITH LARGE SHRIMP

This was a quick recipe. Most items can be found very inexpensively. Like I said I wish I had a little more fresh items, but all in all, it is what it is. Rice-a-Roni has even gone up. I have been buying the California brand, but this meal called for special rice. Thank you and have a great dinner! I just taste tested this dish, called for a tad more bouillon because I try to be frugal with it because it is pricier than the regular chicken bouillon cubes but it is a very good meal and will very nice on the plate this evening and taste even better as it slides down my esophagus.

1 box Rice-a-Roni stir fried rice (prepared by directions on the box)
chicken bouillon or Better than Bouillon roasted chicken flavor (jarred in the soup isle in your local supermarket)
cooked and deveined large tails on shrimp bag (store brand)
3 fresh garlic cloves

I prepared the pan using 2 tablespoons or about the equivalent of Country Crock butter and 3 cloves of fresh garlic sliced in small pieces. I browned the rice over lower than medium heat, and at the same time added the seasoning packet and 2 cups of water. Before this my package of frozen cooked shrimp was thawing in tepid water in a colander. I removed the tails and made sure the poop wasn't anywhere to be found in each and every one. Before I added the shrimp I added about 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons or a bit more of Better than Bouillon. Made sure that was all broken up and then added the shrimp.

That is now on a very low simmer while I decided to come and create this recipe in my online recipe keeper that I have decided to share with you all here at Cooks.com. I'm sure it will be good because more often than not things usually turn out good in my kitchen, but after this gets posted for public posting I will give myself my own rating.

I don't really have much in the household for fresh veggies to add to this dish. I could have enjoyed scallions, green onions other known as, snow pea pods, carrot slivers, water chestnuts, sunflower seeds, Napa which is a Chinese cabbage, celery shoots, cut diagonally, green cabbage, but whatever you have on hand try it! That is after my own personal rating of my own dish.

I thought about trying teriyaki sauce but I wanted to try something a little different. I have a local Chinese restaurant in the area called Eastern Dragon. They are wonderful! They don't really get much business anymore due to the high skyrocketing prices of inflation and prices of everyday cooking items going up so high. I highly recommend you give your local restaurants a chance for good food, drinks and spirits. Bring the kids too! I'm sure they cater to all! God bless and have a safe and happy Saturday!
