BAKED ACORN SQUASH 
2 med. acorn squash
1 lg. unpared tart red apple, sliced
2 tbsp. chopped nuts
1/4 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cut squash in half and clean out seeds. Place cut side down in baking dish, pour 1/4" of water in dish and bake 30 minutes. Mix apple, nuts and brown sugar. Turn squash halves, cut side up. Put apple mixture into squash. Top with 1 tablespoon of butter in each. Bake another 30 minutes.
