FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Wesson oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. nuts, chopped
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. grated apples

Mix oil, sugar and eggs until creamy. Sift dry ingredients and mix with egg mixture. Fold in apples and nuts; add vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. evaporated milk
1 egg yolk
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. coconut

Mix butter, egg yolk, brown sugar and milk; cook until thick. Add nuts and coconut. Spread on cake and place under broiler for 1 minute.
