FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. Wesson oil
2 c. white sugar
3 eggs
3 c. self-rising flour (I used White Lily)
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. chopped apples (I used Golden Delicious)
1 c. chopped black walnuts or pecans

Combine oil, sugar and eggs. Mix well. Add flour (sifted). Add vanilla. Stir in apples and nuts by hand. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes or in a 9 x 13 inch pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. canned cream

Cook 2 to 2 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and partially cool. Beat and pour over cake.
