Perfect recipe. Used it for years. Learned to add 1 tablespoon meringue powder to recipe for stability and flavor. Butter, vanilla, and a little almond flavoring is good. When in doubt about sitting out, add 2-4 tablespoons water instead of milk and it is still great. People make mistake of using too much Crisco and complaining of it's taste. 1 cup Crisco to 2 lbs powdered sugar is perfect.
