RED CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour milk or cream
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. cocoa
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugar and shortening; add eggs and mix well. In another bowl mix vinegar and soda. Pour milk into vinegar mixture and add to sugar and shortening mixture. Sift flour, salt and cocoa; add to other mixture.

Beat well and add boiling water, stirring constantly. When well mixed, add vanilla. Pour into two 9 inch greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
