SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter, creamed
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/2 c. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. plain flour

Add 1 ingredient at a time. Bake 325 to 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 15 minutes. When cool, roll in powdered sugar if you like.
