CHOCOLATE RIBBON CAKE 
Oven 350.

Cream in small bowl: 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. cornstarch

Beat well and then add: 2 tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat well and set aside.

CAKE PART:

Combine, in large mixing bowl: 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Add: 1 c. milk

Blend well and beat for 2 1/2 minutes at low speed.

Add: 2 eggs 4 env. Baker's chocolate or 4 squares, melted 1 tsp. vanilla

Beat at low speed for 2 minutes.

Grease and flour 13x9 pan. Spread half mixture in pan. Spoon cheese mixture over batter (over all of bottom); spread rest of cake batter over top. Bake 50-60 minutes at 350.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
1 c. chocolate morsels (semi-sweet)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Combine milk and butter in saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat and blend in chocolate morsels. Stir in vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until thickness desired. If necessary add more milk for creamy frosting.
