2 c. all-purpose flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. oil 1/2 c. milk 1 egg 1/2 c. sour cream In a large bowl put flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Stir to mix. Make a well in center and add oil, milk, sour cream and egg. Mix with wooden spoon until smooth. Heat oil in deep skillet. Drop mixture by teaspoon into hot oil so they do not touch one another. Fry until golden brown about 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels and sift confectioners' sugar on top and serve hot. NOTE: Do not make large or they will not cook all the way through. Makes about 4 dozen. |
