CORN-TOMATO CHOWDER 
1/4 lb. bacon
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 can evaporated milk
1/8 tsp. pepper
3 c. boiling water
1 can stewed tomatoes
2 c. diced raw potatoes
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika

Cut bacon into pieces. Fry until crisp. Add onion and cook slowly without browning. Add corn, including liquid, tomatoes, potatoes. Sprinkle with seasonings. Add boiling water and cook slowly until potatoes are tender, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from heat, slowly stir in milk.
