SAUSAGE AND RICE CASSEROLE | |
2 lbs. hot style bulk pork sausage, browned and well drained 1 med. onion, chopped 1 med. green pepper, chopped 1 c. chopped celery 1 c. uncooked reg. rice 1/2 c. slivered almonds, toasted 2 (0.375 oz.) env. instant chicken noodle soup mix 1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped (optional) 2 1/2 c. water Mix all ingredients except water. Place in a lightly greased 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Pour water over top. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours. Serves 8-10. Can be halved easily to serve 4-5 people. |
