TURNIP CASSEROLE 
3 c. mashed cooked turnips (white or yellow)
3 tbsp. butter
4 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/4 c. bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp. butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine turnips, butter, sugar, salt, pepper, 3/4 cup of the bread crumbs and the eggs. Mix well. Turn into a buttered 1 quart casserole and top with remaining bread crumbs, mixed with the melted butter. Bake until top is browned, about 35 minutes.
