WATER CHESTNUT RAMAKI 
1 (7 oz.) can water chestnuts
7 bacon strips, cut in half
1/3 c. catsup
1/2 c. granulated sugar

Wrap water chestnuts in bacon strip, skewering firmly with toothpick. If large than bite size, cut water chestnuts in half. Use a half strip of bacon for each chestnut.

Place in baking pan close together. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven. Drain off fat as it collects until bacon appears as dry as possible, but not burned, about 1 hour. Combine catsup and sugar. Pour over water chestnuts. Cover completely. Bake again at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Sauce should cling, not drip. IF toothpicks look burned, replace with new ones. Serve hot!
