BREAKFAST CASSEROLE | |
Grease 9x13 inch baking dish. Trim crusts from 6-7 pieces bread and place in bottom of dish. Arrange in 3 layers on top of bread: Broccoli, chopped in sm. pieces Green peppers Onions Mushrooms 1 lb. (lg. pkg.) shredded Cheddar If using ham, omit salt when seasoning egg mixture. Broccoli, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, according to preference and optional. Beat 8-9 eggs; add 2 cups milk. Season lightly with salt or garlic salt, pepper and chives. Pour over layered ingredients. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees covered 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Edges should be lightly browned and pulling away from dish. Center should appear fairly done. Let cool to "set" a little before serving. |
