Lg. Napa cabbage 1 bunch green onions 2 bags Ramen noodles 4 oz. slivered almonds 1/2 c. sesame seeds 3/4 stick butter (Save the flavor packet in the noodles for another time) SAUCE: 3/8 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 1/4 c. vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce Saute the noodles, almonds and sesame seeds in the butter until lightly browned; drain on paper towel. Chop cabbage - discarding large white ends. Chop onions - place in sealed plastic bag and refrigerate overnight. Also refrigerate (a couple of hours at least) the sauteed noodles, almonds and sesame seeds after they have drained on paper towel). Put ingredients for sauce in a jar and shake vigorously. Mix cabbage and onions with the noodles, almonds and sesame seeds. Add sauce just before serving; mix well. This can be used for flavoring the next time you make regular rice. |
