MINCEMEAT CAKE 
1 pkg. mincemeat
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. water
2 eggs
Chopped nuts (optional)

Combine mincemeat and 1/2 cup water. Cook until not too juicy. Cool. Mix together shortening, flour, baking powder, salt, corn syrup, water and eggs. Blend in mincemeat mixture. Add chopped nuts if desired. Pour in cake pan and bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees.
