BISCUIT DOUGH 
1/2 pkg. yeast
1 tbsp. lukewarm water
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar

Put shortening in large bowl. Sift dry ingredients together. With a mixer mix shortening and dry ingredients. Stir in buttermilk. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Pour yeast and buttermilk into dry mixture. Blend together. Roll out 1/2 inch thick. Cut into biscuits and bake at 350 degrees until brown.
