3/4 c. butter (or 1 1/2 sticks)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Optional: decorate with Christmas decoration

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together butter, salt, sugar, egg and baking powder, vanilla. Fold in flour 1 cup at a time. Chill for one hour. Roll out and cut into desired shapes (approximately 1/8 inch thick). Cook for 10 minutes or until lightly brown. Sprinkle with sugar if desired. Yield: approximately 5 dozen.
