PEACHES IN RED WINE 
1 kg. sm. peaches
125 ml. water
250 g. sugar
1 cinnamon stick
125 ml. red wine

Blanch and peel peaches, leaving them whole. Put water, sugar and cinnamon in a saucepan; cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Add wine; leave uncovered and cook for further 15 minutes.

Put peaches in a deep serving dish. Pour liquid (after removing cinnamon stick) over peaches and chill. Serves 4-6.
