GRANNY'S POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or 1/2 c. Crisco
4 eggs, separated
1 c. milk
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Cream together sugar and butter. Beat egg yolks and add with half of milk. Alternate milk with dry ingredients. Beat egg whites and fold by hand to cake. Cook in tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
