AUNT BERTHA'S ROLLS 
1 yeast cake
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. lard
1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. warm water
4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon sugar. Cream lard, 1/3 cup sugar and egg. Add 1 cup warm water and beat. Add yeast cake and beat in flour and salt. Let rise, press down and roll out. Cut out with round cutter spread with melted butter. Fold over and place on greased baking sheet to rise. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly brown. Dough may be refrigerated before baking.
