MARINATED ONIONS 
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 c. white vinegar
2 1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. salt

Boil and cool. Slice any kind of onions and pour the mixture over the onions (about 6 medium to large onions). Let set 2 hours. Drain and add 2 cups mayonnaise and 2 tablespoons celery seed (be sure to use real mayonnaise).
