CRANBERRY NUT BREAD 
Loaded with cranberries, raisins and nuts, this bread is delicious spread with unsalted butter or cream cheese. Do not slice it until it is 24 hours old or it will crumble.

For 1 loaf you will need: 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter 1 egg 1 tbsp. grated orange rind 3/4 c. orange juice 1 1/2 c. golden raisins 1 1/2 c. cranberries, chopped 1 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir egg with orange rind and orange juice. Then blend mixture into flour mixture. Stir just until flour is moistened. Fold in raisins, cranberries and nuts. Spoon into greased 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 75 minutes or until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes. Then invert onto wire rack. Turn right side up. Cool. Store, well wrapped, for 24 hours before slicing.
