CHICKEN PAPRIKA | |
1 med. onion Shortening Salt to taste 1 tbsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. pepper 3-4 lb. chicken (cut up) 1 1/2 c. water 1 c. sour cream 1 or 2 tbsp. flour Saute onion in shortening until tender, add paprika. Stir. Add chicken, coating well with onion paprika mixture. Add water, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then heat until chicken is tender. Remove chicken and blend in sour cream (which has 1 or 2 tablespoons flour mixed in it), to the liquid in pan. Return chicken to pan. Add dumplings just before serving. DUMPLINGS: 3 eggs 1/2 c. water 2 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. salt Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth. Bring salted water to boil. Drop batter by teaspoon into boiling water, dipping spoon in water every time. Cook until done. Drain, add to sour cream sauce. |
