SOUTHERN SPOON BREAD 
3/4 c. white cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. water
2 c. milk, divided
3 eggs, well beaten

Mix cornmeal, salt, sugar, butter, water and half of the milk in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Cool. Stir in eggs and remaining milk. Pour batter in hot, greased 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve at once. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
