VIRGINIA'S POUND CAKE WITH LOVE 
1/2 lb. butter
3 c. granulated sugar
1 c. sour cream
6 eggs (separated)
3 c. cake flour, plain
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract

Cream sugar and butter well. Add egg yolks two at a time, beat in well after each addition.

Add sour cream, mix. Add flavorings. Mix in 1 cup flour. Beat egg whites until they hold peak; fold into mixture. Add remaining flour, salt and soda.

Put into a greased, lined pan. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.

Can be made little loaves for birthday gifts. Cake is good plain or served with a fruit topping or ice cream.
