GRANDMAW'S FRUITCAKE COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
4 whole eggs
3 c. flour
3 tbsp. sweet milk
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 lb. cherries
Rum flavoring
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking soda (scant)
1 1/2 lb. chopped pecans
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. dates

Cream sugar and butter well. Add well beaten eggs and milk. Sift dry ingredients together several times. Mix fruits and add to first mixture.

Drop from point of spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake very low for 12 to 25 minutes until they dry out.

They improve with age and will keep indefinitely. This makes a lot so have a big bowl to mix all of it.
