1/2 c. oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chocolate pieces

Mix oil with 1 1/2 cups sugar; beat in eggs. Stir in flour, cinnamon, salt, applesauce, baking soda and cocoa. Pour mixture into greased and floured 9x13 pan. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar, nuts, and chocolate pieces.

This can be lightly stirred in or left on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-40 minutes. Cover with foil if top becomes too brown.
