CHOCOLATE CHIP APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 unbeaten eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Oil and flour 9 x 13 inch pan. Sift dry ingredients; add butter, eggs and beat. Add applesauce and beat lightly. Pour into oiled and floured pan. Before baking sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 cup chocolate chips over batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Freezes well. (1/2 recipe for 6 x 10 inch pan.)
