CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE 
3 or 4 lbs. corned beef
3 sliced carrots
1 stalk of celery, chopped
1 bay leaf
6 whole cloves
1 peeled garlic clove, chopped
6 med. potatoes
6 whole carrots
6 cabbage wedges

In a large deep pot, mix corned beef, sliced carrots, bay leaf, cloves, and celery. Cover with cold water; bring to a boil and simmer for 3 hours. Add whole carrots and potatoes.

Simmer for 20 minutes. Add cabbage wedges and simmer 20 more minutes or until cabbage is tender.
