APPLE BARS 
BASE:

1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
3/4 c. butter

Mix together and pat in 9x13 inch pan, reserving 1 cup for topping.

FILLING:

3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. sugar
1 c. water

Mix together and cook until thick. Add 6 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced. Spread onto base. Top with reserved crumb mixture. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
