DON'S OLD FAMILY SECRET BAR - B - Q SAUCE | |
1 bottle of Hunt's all natural thick and rich sauce 1 lemon 1/3 c. brown sugar 3 Miller Lite beers, bottled or canned 1/2 tsp. Cavender's Greek seasoning Salt and pepper to taste Light fire on grill about thirty minutes prior to cooking. (I use a real fire, not bottle gas.) Coals should be white hot with very little flame. Mix bottled sauce, lemon juice, 1/2 can beer, and seasonings in small bowl and set aside. Drink remaining half can of beer. Place pork steaks on the grill and brown both sides well. Remove steaks from fire before they're done, and place in shallow aluminum "throw away" foil pan. Drink the second beer. Place the foil pan on the grill and cover steaks with the sauce. Place lid over the entire grill and cook for 7 to 10 minutes. This allow time for that really good smoky flavor. Drink remaining beer while allowing this cooking time. Carefully remove cooking pan from grill by sliding onto cookie sheet. Remove steaks from pan and pour sauce into saucepan to thicken like gravy. |
