BAKED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage (2 1/2 lbs.)
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. sugar
1 c. hot milk
2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. grated cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 12x8-inch shallow baking dish. Discard outer leaves of cabbage. Wash, cut in 12 wedges. Pour 1 cup water in large skillet; add cabbage. Bring to boil. Add 1 teaspoon salt. Cook over medium heat, covered, 10 minutes. Drain well.

Arrange cabbage in baking dish. Sprinkle with mixture of flour, sugar, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper. Dot with butter. Pour hot milk over cabbage; sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered 35 minutes. Serves 8.
