WHOLE WHEAT PEANUT BUTTER
COOKIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. toasted wheat germ

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, cream butter, peanut butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients, except wheat germ. Blend into cream mixture; shape into 1 inch balls and roll in wheat germ. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in criss-cross pattern with fork tines. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly, then remove from pan. Yield: 4 dozen.
