SOUTHERN BLUEBERRY POUND CAKE 
Cream 2 cups sugar and 1 cup butter (I use 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening). Add 3 eggs alternately with 3 cups flour and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon mace. Add 1/2 cup milk.

In a separate bowl combine 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons flour with 2 cups blueberries. Fold into cake batter and pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 70 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

My mother passed this recipe on to me; it is something of a community favorite; we call it blueberry pudding because they make a brown sauce of flour, cinnamon and nutmeg to pour over the cake. It's a delicious cake with or without the sauce.
