EGGS SOUFFLE | |
8 slices bread, cut in 1" squares (remove crusts) Salt & pepper 1/2 stick butter 6 lg. eggs 2 c. milk 1 lb. Cheddar cheese 1 c. ham or bacon (optional) Grease pan with butter and melt rest of stick over low heat. Beat eggs and add milk gradually. Pour this mixture over bread squares which have been placed in 9 x 9 inch pan. Grated cheese can be put on both layers. Pour melted cheese on top. This must refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. This can easily be doubled and baked in a 9 x 12 inch pan to feed 10-12 people. |
