ANGEL FLAKE BISCUITS 
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. warm water
5 c. flour
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sift dry ingredients and cut in shortening with pastry blender. Stir buttermilk and yeast into flour-shortening mixture. Roll out on floured board, cut into biscuits. Brush with melted butter. Let rise, covered, in warm place approximately 1 hour. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. Makes 2 dozen. Can freeze.
