PERFECT PIE CRUST | |
This dough is never tough! 4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour 2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. sugar 1 3/4 cups shortening (Crisco) 1 large egg 1 tbsp. white vinegar 1/2 cup water Mix flour, salt and sugar with fork. Add shortening; mix until crumbly. In small bowl beat together egg, vinegar and water; combine both mixtures. Divide dough into 5 portions; shape into flat, round patties. Wrap in plastic (Saran) wrap and chill at least 1/2 hour, or freeze until needed. Note: Do not use lard, oil, margarine or butter. Do not use self-rising flour. Submitted by: Maria Payne |
