BEEF STEW 
2 lb. beef stew
1 or 2 lg. onion, 1/4 inch thick
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. tapioca
1/2 to 1 c. tomato juice (V-8)
3 or 4 carrots, cut in 2 inch pieces
2 or 3 stalks celery, cut in 2 inch pieces

Grease casserole. Place raw meat on bottom and add all vegetables. Sprinkle salt, sugar, tapioca; pour tomato juice over all. Cover tightly with foil and lid. Bake at 250 degrees for 4 to 8 hours.
