BETTY'S CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING 
Pour 2 cups (4 cups) scalded milk over 1 1/2 cups (3 cups) broken up pieces of bread.

Beat together:

2 eggs (3 eggs)
1 tsp. vanilla (2 tsp.)
4 heaping tbsp. cocoa (8 tbsp.)
3/4 c. sugar (1 1/2 c.)

and pour over bread/milk mixture. Stir.

Bake in 8 inch square pan (smaller measurements) or 13 x 9 inch pan (larger measurements) at 350 degrees for 45 minutes (after the first 15 or 20 minutes open oven door and stir the mixture - the edges cook first and need to be stirred into middle).

Delicious hot and served with vanilla ice cream - great cold with whipped cream.
