KEEPS WELL PLAYDOUGH 
Sift together:

1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
1 tbsp. powdered alum

Mix and add to dry ingredients while stirring:

3/4 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. glycerin (drug store)
1 tsp. oil of wintergreen or oil of cloves
Several drops of food coloring

Finish making with hands, kneading until smooth. Stores well in covered container. I keep it refrigerated. Yields approximately 2 cups. I usually double.

After each time dough is used, I sprinkle some water onto the dough to replace what has evaporated.
