OVEN BROWNED CHICKEN | |
8 to 10 fryer pieces Salt and pepper to taste 3/4 stick corn oil butter 1 1/2 c. flour 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can water Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Season chicken pieces to taste. Dredge in flour. Dot baking dish with butter. Lay pieces in dish and cook for 20 minutes until brown. Turn pieces over and brown other side. Reduce heat to 325 degrees or 350 degrees and cook 30 to 40 minutes. Just before serving, lift from dish and put aside. Pour cream of mushroom soup and water in for gravy. Bring to a boil. Keep chicken warm in oven. Serve gravy separately. |
